From excelling in primary and secondary school music programs to winning the 1981 RTM National Best Tamil Vocalist award, his passion for music was undeniable.
As the lead singer in Malaysia’s renowned SAREGAMA troupe, guided by legends like Datuk Suseela Menon and R.P.S. Raju, he honed his craft in Indian music. Suthan’s vocal prowess earned him the Best Vocal Singer award at the 1982 Malaysian Gamma Awards. His career flourished, performing across the nation and abroad, recording in studios, and gracing TV and radio shows. Notably, he was a guest singer alongside icons like Sudirman Haji Arshad and Uji Rashid.
His musical foundation is enriched with sanggeetham training under respected maestros, and he is also skilled in Chendai Melam and Urumi Melam. Beyond performing, Suthan has contributed as a judge in national-level competitions, continuing to inspire the next generation of talent.
